My name is Tehani and I’m the founder of Communication Champions. It has taken a little while to get this blog up and running (chasing after a little too-curious toddler) but here we are!
Having worked for 10 years as a speech therapist across a variety of settings, I was ready to branch out on my own and start Communication Champions. My main motive for going private was to create a therapy space for families to feel truly heard, to work together to find speech therapy approaches that are functional for each individual family and to work at pace that suits you. Too often in larger companies and organisations, we find ourselves trying to juggle expansive caseloads with too few working hours and consequently, ensuring each individual client is receiving a dedicated service becomes difficult. That’s why I like to start things off at Communication Champions with a good old fashioned phone call – to get to know your child and family, to find out what you would like to achieve through therapy and to see if Communication Champions will be a good fit for you, before we book in any appointments!
